Subject:  Tiny House Summit Updates: New Dates, New Keynotes, New Sessions, New Webinar, PLUS We Are Live and People Are Registering!

OK, so we are LIVE!  :)  Meaning, we are taking registrations, the affiliate codes are working, we have lots of keynote speakers to announce, we’ve just recorded a new webinar that’s up and online, and lots more fun is ahead. Do sign up yourself just to see what we’re sending out!

http://www.TinyHouseSummit.com

First things first: we have new dates for the live event, February 20 - 24. Getting all the technical details worked out for the Summit took longer than we expected, and we got to the first of the January and there was general agreement to move to later dates. We knew it would be really hard to change the dates if we waited any longer, so we emailed our existing keynotes, got approval, and made the change. We are all breathing a little easier now!

Second, we have an awesome (and growing) lineup of keynote speakers: Abel Zimmerman Zyl, Macy Miller, Andrew Bennett, Andrew Odom, Becky Elder, Brad Kittel, Chris Galusha, Chrissy Bellmyer, Damon DesChamp, Darin Zaruba, Darren Hughes, David & Jeanie Stiles, Felice Cohen, Hari Berzins, Jake & Kiva, Jay Shafer, John & Finn Kernohan, Kelly Hart, Keri Fivecoat-Campbell, Pat Dunham, Saul Rip Hansen, Thom Stanton, Tracey Powell, Valerie Cook & Tim Boffe, Vera Struck, and Zack Giffin. Stay posted for more! I just recorded the first keynote interview with Macy Miller--she was awesome, and I can’t wait to do the rest of these!

Third, we have some great community presentation proposals that have been submitted! In addition to our keynote speakers, anyone who wants to can submit to present a live session during the Summit on a tiny/small-related topic. So far we have “Powering Your Tiny House With SOLAR!” by Michael Chance, “Airbnbing Your Tiny House” by Sarah Murphy, “How to Downsize and De-Clutter Before You Go Tiny” by Jenn Baxter, and “Urban Voluntary Simplicity: How to Downsize Your Living Space Without Leaving the City” by Terry K. Kudos to each of them! And you can add your name to this list, just visit the Summit community network at TinyIsBeautiful.com and look for the directions to submit a session proposal (http://tinyisbeautiful.com/page/submit-to-present).

Fourth, it’s not too late to join the affiliate marketing program. You can share in the revenue of the sale of the recordings this way--while the conference is free to attend each day, we will sell a package of the recordings and bonus items, and by using your affiliate code, you can get a hefty percentage of that revenue. You should already have an email from us on this, but if you can’t find it or have any questions, reach out to sera@learningrevolution.com, and she will help you! We start our own Facebook and Google marketing next week, and we just want to make sure everyone who wants to get in front of that marketing has the chance to.

Here’s the “leaderboard” of early affiliate signups, in order of number of signups:
  • Trekker Trailers
  • Natural Building Blog
  • Tiny House NC Street Festival

Marketing material is available at http://www.tinyhousesummit.com/promotional.html. We want to help you with this. If you need any advice or coaching to promote the conference, I can get on the phone with you! Just let me know.

Speaking of marketing, we’re still looking for good, sharable electronic content (mp3s, pdfs, ebooks, etc.) that we can include with the package. Do you have something that would be great for people to receive, and which you would feel comfortable giving away? (It can be something that helps to market your own services.) Also reach out to sera@learningrevolution.com if you think you do!

Fifth, we have a new webinar up! Our first webinar, “Webinar - Drilling Down on Tiny House as DIY (Do It Yourself),” with Jake & Kiva, Domenic Mangano, and Tracey Powell is on TinyIsBeautiful.com at http://tinyisbeautiful.com/page/diy-webinar. This week we just recorded a new webinar with Rubi Beg, called “Rubi Builds a Tiny House on Wheels as Senior Project.” Rubi gave a version of this presentation to our Asheville Tiny House meetup group some weeks ago, and we begged her to let us record it. You’re going to love her practical, thoughtful, and detailed description of building her own tiny house.

Finally, do check out TinyIsBeautiful.com, the community site where you (and the Summit attendees) have access to:
  • The updated list of current keynote speakers.
  • The webinar recordings.
  • A great reading list of books about tiny houses and tiny/small living!
  • The community presentations that are going to be given during the Summit (and the form to propose your own presentation if you want).
  • Forum discussions areas to communicate with other members of the network.
  • Your own profile page, plus the ability to upload photos and/or videos, to create specialty groups, or to blog.

See you online!

Steve
